Strike, scrape, shimmer... the sea is listening.

La Reverberación Negra is an immersive, interactive sound installation built from

suspended metallic instruments. Visitors touch and move the instruments freely. Their

actions trigger real-time sound processing and shifting projection, creating a landscape that

breathes and responds.

The installation features up to six microphones, two projectors, two speakers, and a

range of suspended instruments, including sleigh bells, finger cymbals, a thunder sheet, and

a Thai gong.

This work gives voice to the silent suffering of marine life caught in the violence of

ongoing metallic pollution, especially in Latin America, where extractive industries continue

to damage rivers and coastal ecosystems. Once vibrant rivers have turned gray. The sounds

of the installation resemble the cries of animals that cannot speak for themselves, and the

shift from white to red projections speaks to the bloody massacre marine life endures from

metallic pollution.

The audience becomes part of this fragile ecosystem by interacting with the metallic

sound objects, shaping the sonic and visual textures that reflect humanity's impact. This

installation invites us to listen as the ocean goes quiet, to the vanishing rhythms of marine

life and the silence left behind.

Interaction

Audience members activate the discreetly miked suspended percussion instruments.

Contact/clipon microphones capture the signal and route it (along the pipe grid) into the

computer for live processing/envelope following.

Said signal also generates or alters visual projected media across both projection surfaces.

About Me

I am an American, Venezuelan, and French percussionist, composer, and digital artist working in an interdisciplinary space that combines acoustic sound, technology, and visual media. I build worlds out of drums, gongs, marimbas, microphones, and electronics, inviting people into spaces that feel nostalgic, vulnerable, and otherworldly. My work often explores the tension of navigating this world as a woman and how intense and emotional life can be.

I study at Oberlin Conservatory and am based in Miami, Florida. I’ve performed with the New York Philharmonic, the New World Symphony, and at the Adrienne Arsht Center, and I’ve attended several contemporary music festivals. I’m currently working toward my Senior recital, and recently, I scored Coral Morphologic’s newest film, Cosmic Reef, which premiered on December 6, 2025, during Art Basel in Miami.
